Been some time since I posted some proper news . So thought I’d do a good catchup now that I have some time off, share news, some pics and the like. It’s a long one, be forewarned, but there some lovely pics and a lot going on so stick with it. Here a few sunrises from November to enjoy first up (click to enlarge the images). December’s. Love them. It’s my birthday, holidays and summer. But goodness, I been so busy. It’s the morning of the 21st today already and…
This past weekend I got the opportunity to get away to Bushmans to celebrate Tracy and Dru’s birthdays, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. How lekker is that 🙂 We left Kidds after work on Friday and had a really enjoyable drive down to Bushmans. We arrived around 7ish and settled in with a few cold beers and good ol’ braai with great company. Fantastic! Saturday started with a cup of coffee and rusk enjoying the early morning sunrise before everyone got up. Was a beautiful morning and getting…
Yesterday an absolute gem came into my life, Mal. An absolutely beautiful animal in his nature and looks. Not only has he already made himself at home, he has made himself a little home in my heart. Mal is Red Irish Setter and is now six months old. He had quite an adventure getting here from Natal Mal did. He was originally supposed to travel Tuesday but it was postponed till Friday. On Friday morning he left his siblings and made his way to the Durban airport where he would…
What a week. Usually when folks say this on a Friday they talking about the manic week they’ve had at work and how pleased they are the week is finished and they can relax on the weekend. I could say that too. It’s been incredibly busy this week with work. But it’s gone well and really it’s not what I meant when I said “what a week”. A couple of months ago things changed for me. Best way to describe it would be to imagine yourself nice and content having…
As the headline and image above suggests, I been on the beach a bit this week. It’s been incredibly busy with work (a good thing) but I’m so lucky that I seem to be finding a good balance of focusing on work and taking the time I need for myself too. It’s so important to make my life here sustainable. I need the work to pay my way and to work towards my goals, but without the balance I’d be unhappy, stressed and well probably quite grumpy. I don’t like…
Cross post from my work blog I’m very excited about this project and so happy that I was able to contribute to the Indiegogo campaign. It’s such a worthy cause and truly something I believe in passionately. Without education, we will fail to rid the world of the massive problems we face. Some hard hitting facts: 1.6 Million more teachers are needed in classrooms by 2015 – UNESCO 250 million children around the world cannot read or write – UNESCO Learning basic reading skills could lift 171 million people out…
Happy birthday to one of the most wonderful and loving people I know, my Mum. Mum is one of the most important people in my life. She’s embraced my crazy decisions with unconditional love and support throughout my life and this is one of the greatest gifts anyone can ever receive. Thank you for being you Mum.
