Yesterday I wanted to make something a bit different for supper and I was lucky enough to get the tides right to be able to pick some fresh mussels. We have beautiful mussels here and they make a great dish.  Now my normal “go to” dish with mussels is to do them in a pheasant style. I’d steam them in white wine, garlic and shallots and serve with crusty brown bread and butter. Beautiful! But I was a bit bored of that so I asked my old mate Ross what…

[edit 21/10] Work has gone absolutely mal for me… I’m booked up right up to end of November already with some other work pending… I want to take some time off over December, so I think Cape Town must wait till end of January now. More once I know. Some preliminary dates for Cape Town at the end of the year. 27th November through to the 10th December. Not set in stone but this seems the most likely for now. Really looking forward to seeing  you folks again.  More in…

Man am I chuffed about this. My latest client and most high profile one yet 🙂 Very happy to have landed this, it will mean great exposure for me! So I’ll be doing a re-development of Maria’s existing site to help her promote herself, basically an online CV with video showreel etc. Similar in terms of what there is now, just better 🙂 Here is the old site if you want to see more:  www.mariaramos.com

Every year I create a playlist, a “mixed tape” if you will, of my favourite tracks. I give this to friends as gifts and the like. Just sharing the love and all. I’ve done it for a few years now but it’s been a bit hard (read I’ve not taken the time to do it…) to share this easily with you if I’m not going to physically see you. Enter Youtube. I think this is a pretty good option for now. You can listen to most of the tracks as…

Look to this day. For it is life. In its brief course lie all the realities of our existence. Yesterday is but a memory, tomorrow is only a vision. Look well therefore to this day. Such is the salutation to the dawn.  — Attributed to Kalidasa A leader is best when people barely know he exists. When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves. — Lao Tzu It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it.…

I think it’s time for people to start reconnecting to what is true. We have been ignorant of the price we going pay, our children are going to pay, our grand children are going to pay and it will be gone for ever when it does go. Our lives will be different. — Carlos Eyles, Freediver http://youtu.be/ZlgXZiBijM8

Cross posted from my work blog Via eff.org: Net neutrality— the idea that Internet service providers (ISPs) should treat all data that travels over their networks equally—got major attention this Spring when the FCC released proposed regulatory guidelines that left Internet users and companies alike deeply concerned. The proposal included new language giving ISPs leeway to create a “fast lane” for certain websites (i.e. websites with deep pockets that were willing to shell out more money for faster access to users). But you can’t have a fast lane without also…
