I’m so pleased that I was able to cast my vote this morning. It’s election time in South Africa and it’s a big one. I did not vote for either of the major parties. I don’t think a two party state is the way forward. I don’t believe it works in the UK or the US and it definitely won’t work here. We need politicians to work together, to be from the people and for the people and to honour our wonderful constitution. My hope is that today we’ll see…

We had a short opportunity for clean water today before the East wind got up and ruined the visibility so Gareth and myself dived off Kidds Beach tidal pool. We saw mussel cracker, silvers, blues and more. The blacks and silvers where all 50/50 on size so I left them. Quite a lot of smaller fish too which made the dive enjoyable. Via NASA: A mid-level flare, an M6.5, erupted from the sun on April 2, 2014, peaking at 10:05 a.m. EDT. This video from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory shows the flare in a blend of two wavelengths of extreme ultraviolet light: 304 Angstroms and 171 Angstroms, colourised in yellow and red, respectively.

Some pics from this morning’s walk. One of the real pleasures of the coming winter is the later sunrise which I then get to enjoy most days. Just stunning. Bit stormy at the moment, big swell and some rain about. Hope you like the pics. Cheers B
