So today, officially, the registration of the plot went through. So step one… done! WHOOHOO! It’s a big deal for me, a real sense of achievement. Something to anchor me here. To call home. I know there is a long way to go yet before I spend my first night under my own roof…but I’ll get there. And I’m keen to do it as soon as possible. So some sacrifices to be made over the next few months to try speed things up, but it’s going to be worth it…

Thanks to the mystery girl who left me a totally unexpected and lovely surprise at my door…! I do love chocolate! 🙂
Friday! One of my favs! 🙂 Just a short post to share something and also to save it here so I don’t forget about it. Last weekend I was in one of the home stores (love those shops…) and walked past this tray. I’d actually walked out of the shop before it had sunk in. I walked back to take a picture so I’d remember this and could share it. So my friends this weekend, enjoy those little moments, the little things people do, say or things you see that…
Last Thursday Chloe had to be put down. Sad day for me and Mum. Chloe was my dog but when I moved the UK she went to go stay with Mum and they really grew close over the years. When I moved back to SA and then to Kidds Beach, Chloe stayed with Mum. She was getting old by then and struggled with mobility, but they also had such a special relationship so it seemed unfair to split them. So she stayed and was her stately self till the end.…
So happy to welcome my Mum back to Kidds Beach after more than 20 years. Long overdue and looking forward to having her around in the village! Love you Mum, well done!
For my Park Run results I’m going to do a monthly post that I’ll just update rather than a weekly post that just clutters up the blog. Think that will be a good way to list the times and monitor how I’m doing too. I.e. week by week on one page per month and I can list my average for the last month and goal for next month… anyway, work in progress so we’ll see how it goes. 03/01 – 27:58 (full results) 10/01 – 26:59 (full results) 17/01 –…
Was listening this morning to the Tim Ferris Podcast and in that episode he interviews Kevin Kelly. It’s a fantastic interview, loads of very cool stuff in there and a highly recommend listen. Via Tim Ferris: He [Kevin Kelly] is Senior Maverick at Wired magazine, which he co-founded in 1993. He also co-founded the All Species Foundation, a non-profit aimed at cataloging and identifying every living species on earth. In his spare time, he writes bestselling books, co-founded the Rosetta Project, which is building an archive of ALL documented human…
What lekker weekend. Great parkrun on Saturday morning, 26:59. (that 25min looking closer now!) Swimming and sundowners at the Gonubie river/beach. Stunning chow and evening out at Sanook. If you not been go, atmosphere and setting is great and the food fantastic. And do have the chocolate brownies for dessert… I know of only one better brownie out there! Ginger & Co. Then breakfast at Gonubie Hotel, stunning view this morning over the river mouth with the fog just dissipating. Lunch with Mum then back to the wonderful and amazing…
