It’s been a tough few days for me. Not tough as in no food, not tough as in no shelter. But tough emotionally. Does that count? I guess it’s all relative but it does make me think that I’m asking to much sometimes. I thought I was coming home, but home has changed. The “village” I’d hoped to settle down in for awhile, Hout Bay, is no village any longer…it was never a tiny place while I lived here, but rather “sleepy” and laid back is how I’d describe it. …

This is why I’m back. What an awesome morning. There is not much better a way to start the day, sunshine, blue skies and breakfast social gathering with people I hardly know but smile when they see you. This is living life, not just existing. Dario’s in Hout Bay is where we all meet for a Friday morning breakfast get together. Drink coffee, eat, talk and be on our way. Thanks to Dario and his staff for being such a good hosts!

So as I posted a few weeks back, I’ll be leaving these fair shores for the fair Cape of Good Hope. I’d hope that would be in April already, but it’s just not been possible to get everything done before now. So the big day is the 11th of May. I’ll be back in South Africa on the 12th landing in JHB on Thursday morning. From there I’m flying to East London so see family before coming home to Cape Town the following week. If you use Google Latitude, keep…

A warm hello to you my friends!  As a few of you might know already I’m implementing a lot of change this year and I wanted to update everyone as to what is going on! When I moved to the UK I had two primary goals, a) to try save my relationship with Kathryn and b) to achieve financial stability. Unfortunately after nearly 6 years, neither of these goals have been realised. Although Kathryn and I managed to rekindle some of the happiness we once shared, it ended up as…

What a fucking nightmare the past few years have been. I’m just exhausted by the continual struggle to get on with life. I just wanted to say thank you to my friends, you know who are, who make it all worthwhile.

Well it’s Sunday eve, I’m lying on the couch and thinking what a great weekend. Friday night, live music in Mousehole on the old quay. Sat dive at Praa Sands. Sat eve house warming for Alice and Ian. Sunday breakkie at local cafe here. Sun bathing a snorkeling in the arvie and a nice movie and laze on the couch this eve. Job well done me thinks!

I’m finding it really hard to balance my excitement of going home next year with all the wonderful things about living in Cornwall. I’m terribly excited about seeing my dogs again, about having them living with me and the company they provide. My friends. How do you balance that with such wonderful people here too, not to mention my oldest and closest. But I can’t help missing the folks from CT so much. There some people there that are very special to me and I need them in my life.…

If you ever lived on a farm in South Africa, then this will crack you up. How many variations of similar things I’ve heard I cannot tell you, but loads 😉 Boss: “Bongani, do you believe in Life after Death?” Bongani: “Ack-tually, no, Sir!” Boss: “Why not?” Bongani: “Well, basickully, dêr is no proof that it ack-tually exists, Boss.” Boss: “Well, there is proof now.” Bongani: “Hai-bo! Seri-aaass?” Boss: “Yes absolutely. After you left early yesterday to go to your brother’s funeral, he came here looking for you.” Bongani: “Eeisssshhhh….”
