One of my favourites! With the weather turning cold here I thought it the perfect dish for today. Now what follows is my recollection of what a “dumped” into the pot… yep, it’s bit like that and it tends to change every time… What I do is go buy some root vegetables, the oxtail of course and  some other bits and bobs and just stick in a pot. It’s never failed so give it a whirl 😀

Been getting into making smoothies again. Great way to get loads of fruit in. My favourite at the moment: One banana Handful of white grapes Handful of blue berries Blend the fruit with some fruit juice, I use what ever I got on hand. Then add ice, about 5 or 6 cubes depending on how big they are, and blend again till all the ice is “gone” and the smoothie is nice and cold (and smooth…)

The dessert I made for lunch today, yum! INGREDIENTS 1X 360g tin of caramel (or make your own with condense milk, I prefer this) 500ml cream, chilled. (Cornish clotted cream if you can) 100g of mint chocolate (if in SA, Peppermint Crisp is a good one) 200g of choc biscuits of any kind really METHOD Soften the caramel if it’s from a tin (just stir it up a bit) Whip the cream till stiff Fold the caramel into the cream Crush the chocolate and biscuits and mix together Use wine…

One of my favourites and a great “hot” dessert for when it’s cold outside. Ingredients 6 small to med eggs or 4 large 500 ml of milk 60 ml (4T) caster sugar 5 ml (1t) ground cinnamon 80 g butter 125 ml apricot jam 16 10 slices of white bread (I found about 10 to be right, but just put in as many as your mixture/bowl allows) Preparation Preheat oven to 180 °C Whisk eggs, sugar, milk and ground cinnamon together Spread bread slices generously with butter and jam Cut bread into halves Place…
