Had a great weekend break catching up with my friends Dru and Rob this weekend. Been ages since I’d spent a weekend with them and it was long overdue. Went down on Friday evening and we had a quiet one that evening as Dru and Rob themselves having only having gotten home a little earlier from a week away up in the Natal Midlands. Sat Dru and I ran some errands in town then decided to try out a new deli Dru had heard about. Highly recommend if you in…

[edit 21/10] Work has gone absolutely mal for me… I’m booked up right up to end of November already with some other work pending… I want to take some time off over December, so I think Cape Town must wait till end of January now. More once I know. Some preliminary dates for Cape Town at the end of the year. 27th November through to the 10th December. Not set in stone but this seems the most likely for now. Really looking forward to seeing you folks again. More in…
Welcome back. That’s what Cape Town seemed to say as we came down Sir Lowry’s Pass and made our way into the Mother City. It’s been about 18 months, it seemed so long since I’d been here and at the same time, like I never left. Odd. A long trip down overnight, arrived in Cape Town around 11 and Alan picked me up. We drove through to Hout Bay where I would stay till Sunday. We pottered around for the day, Al had some work to finish and I got…
At last! I head off today down to Cape Town for some much needed away time to catchup with friends, dive, hike, swim and generally just be me. Can’t wait. I’ll post pics and news regularly so keep an eye out. More soon! B

The original train station, sited between the stone forts, dates from the late 1870’s with the new…
It’s Tuesday afternoon and I’m sitting outside enjoying the lovely sun on my back. I’ve just finished a busy day but really wanted to write this post to share the news and pics from the weekend.
I spent the weekend out in Simon’s Town with a close friend of mine and some newly acquired friends, just from this weekend in fact 🙂 I’d only intended to stay on till Saturday but the way things turned out I stayed on to enjoy a lovely weekend break.
What an amazing weekend break I’ve just been on. Yes I know… I only just got to Cape Town… but I was invited by my friend Sarah to visit her Parent’s olive farm in Clanwilliam, about 3 hours drive North from Cape Town. I’ve not had a chance to catchup with Sarah so it was great to get away with her.
After 13 days back in South Africa I’m just that little bit closer to “home”. I arrived in Cape Town on Monday and staying at some wonderful friends Mike and Lindy.
