After reading this post from the Greenpeace blog on the critically important battle going on right now for the Arctic, this paragraph really struck home for me;

As Ben Metcalfe, one of the original Greenpeace crew once said; Once you have witnessed an injustice, you cannot claim ignorance as a defence for inaction. You make an ethical choice: to act – or not.

Fynbos in bloom

Woke up Saterday to an absolutely stunning day in Hout Bay. Thought it to good to waste, so decided to do a little exploring.

My good friend Alan lives up the mountain side, almost directly above where I’m staying right in the heart of Hout Bay valley. There is a public footpath that leads up past where he stays, it follows the old Victorskloof road build by Thomas Bains and linked Hout Bay and Camps Bay. I thought it would be good try that for a start and pick Al up on the way. I sent Al a message a but the lazy bugger never got back to me till much later when I’d all but finished the walk! Turns out he had a valid excuse though to you off the hook Al! 😉

This is why I’m back. What an awesome morning. There is not much better a way to start the day, sunshine, blue skies and breakfast social gathering with people I hardly know but smile when they see you. This is living life, not just existing. Dario’s in Hout Bay is where we all meet for a Friday morning breakfast get together. Drink coffee, eat, talk and be on our way. Thanks to Dario and his staff for being such a good hosts!

What an amazing weekend break I’ve just been on. Yes I know… I only just got to Cape Town… but I was invited by my friend Sarah to visit her Parent’s olive farm in Clanwilliam, about 3 hours drive North from Cape Town. I’ve not had a chance to catchup with Sarah so it was great to get away with her.
