I’m so pleased that I was able to cast my vote this morning. It’s election time in South Africa and it’s a big one. I did not vote for either of the major parties. I don’t think a two party state is the way forward. I don’t believe it works in the UK or the US and it definitely won’t work here. We need politicians to work together, to be from the people and for the people and to honour our wonderful constitution. My hope is that today we’ll see…

95 Years young today, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. It’s such a privilege to have you with us still and congratulations on your 95th birthday Tata. Fantastic performance by SA against Fiji. 49-3 to SA! Roussow, F Steyn, Burger where stars for me. Thought they where a little slow to get to some of the breakdowns but did not cost us in this game. Most encouraging was the backline which was given good clean ball which they hung onto. And boy did that create some great tries! Frans Steyn at inside centre works well too. He really had a cracker.
After 13 days back in South Africa I’m just that little bit closer to “home”. I arrived in Cape Town on Monday and staying at some wonderful friends Mike and Lindy.
