We had a short opportunity for clean water today before the East wind got up and ruined the visibility so Gareth and myself dived off Kidds Beach tidal pool. We saw mussel cracker, silvers, blues and more. The blacks and silvers where all 50/50 on size so I left them. Quite a lot of smaller fish too which made the dive enjoyable. I did manage to land a nice blue fish for the pan. They great eating, so time well spent 🙂

Nothing more to add to that except that at long last the drought has been broken and I’ve opened my account for the season!
Well there has not been much to talk about spearfishing wise the past few weeks. The weather has eventually turned and winter is upon us. I think I’ll manage a few more dives still, but it’s just about time to dry out the suit and pack all the gear away for the season. But before I do that I wanted to post some pics of a good week’s spearfishing we had a few weeks back. Just not had the time to write this up so apolgies if I’m a bit vaugue on the details.
This is a dive I been hoping to do for a couple of years now. It’s one of the few places where you can see big shoals of thousands of bass… big bass. Did I mention thousands…of big bass…
Quick coffee break post. The skipper, the legendary Muddy Waters broke a bit of a drought yesterday landing a couple of nice bass 🙂 We got 5 between us so a good day. Just  wanted to share the pic and news. Still got to do a post on Eddystone, sorry for the delay, it’s a manic week with work and getting out as much as possible on the boat before the harbour closes. for the year.
Dived Mousehole island, Low Lee and Carn Base today. To my knowledge I’m the first spearfisherman to dive and land a fish on Carn Base 🙂 Took a small Pollock of it doing a nd exploratary dive this afternoon. Took two small Pollock off Low Lee and a nice sized bass from Mousehole island. Should have been two, missed a sitter…
Tough NE conditions, not much fish about but better than Monday. Took a small bass off the Kellen and a small Pollock off the Conqueror.
