Golowan Festival 2010

Wow, what a weekend it it was. It’s a couple of weekends away already at the time of this post so sorry for the delayed news, but it’s taken me this long to recover… Here is my Facebook post on it to give you some idea…

…ARR… Weekend in a blur…Fri: beach bbq (fantastic) / Sat: Mazey Day processions (really good! well done all), brunch @ blue snapper + beer in the park , back on the beach for Ian’s birthday party in eve (amazing day) / Sun: breakfast @ jubilee pool, F1 (grumble) & lunch (yum) with TJ, watched Eng loose (BADLY…), steak on bbq @ Ross’s in eve (mmm), watched Pulped Fiction then slept like the dead (ZZzzzz…)

What I don’t mention in that is we had a braai on the beach on Friday night too…Fantastic as always 🙂

Saturday morning came and nearly went before my mate James woke up. He really enjoyed the braai and only got home after 3am! We headed off from the first Mazey Day process at 11am. Fantastic!

By this point some breakfast was is high demand so we steamed over to the Blue Snapper for a hearty brunch. I highly recommend their breakfasts, good food and well priced!

Met up with Stretch, Terri, Ian and Alice after and got ready of the 1 o’clock procession which included Robyn and TJ where in this one.

We then moved to the lawns on the promenade, it was very hot and they no longer did the music marque any more, so it lacked the atmosphere of past years. We did a few rides and chilled out on lawns drinking beer and getting a bit of sun. It was very hot, fantastic 🙂

Around 3ish we made our way home to shower and beautify ourselves for Ians birthday bash on the beach in Mousehole. We had Chinese and Indian takeaways delivered to the beach 🙂 Rock n roll! Cracking evening had by all!

Sunday was a bit more chilled. James and I walked along the  promenade for some breakfast at the Jubilee Pool.

From there is was off to lunch at TJ’s and the to watch the F1 race, and then a mad dash back to watch England’s dramatic loss in the Football….shocker.

To round off a weekend of good food and friends we had braai at Ross’s, in the rain. 🙂 rib-eyes on braai, it’s worth a few drops of rain!

All in all a cracking weekend and great to have James down and to be able to show him a good time down here.
