Whoop whoop! Landed my biggest bass of the year so far on Sunday, “only” 5.5lbs but I’m stoked! I say “only” as my friend Dave decided to put us all to shame and slotted a 11lbs at Eddystone the other day…

Sunday was not only about my fish though. It was also the first time our skipper, the great Muddy Waters, steamed out through the gaps in many months. Those close to us will know how much this means to all. Welcome back skipper!
The weather on Sunday was very unsettled, it was supposed to get up to a gale force 9 later that evening (it never did in the end) but it was raining and bit lumpy out.
We steamed out to the “The Bucks” first, Ross picked up a small Pollock and a Bass. I climbed back into the boat empty handed a little worried…
We then moved over to “The Stannock”, just outside Lamorna Cove where we started to see more fish. I took a nice sized fish 3 or 4 dives in and continued to drift with the tide. A few dives later a lovely shoal of nice sized fish came by and it’s out of this lot I took the 5.5 pounder. Stoked!
Ross picked up 4.5 lbs and a couple of other Bass too. All in all one of the best dives in ages!
Here is a pic of the fish:
