My letter to WP Rugby earlier, after the shambles that was trying to procure tickets this morning.
I’m writing to complain on behalf of the thousands of people who tried to buy tickets this morning and failed. For all those that missed work and waisted their time all so they can support you.
You have a relationship with computicket that means we pretty much have to buy our tickets through them.
Yet they use technology that is prone to security and performance flaws leaving us with a situation today where I waited in a queue for 4 hours for computicket systems to come on online after falling over online and through checkers this morning.
This means that I’m still without tickets as their website is still not allowing purchases.
Your technology partner should be able to ensure this kind of thing will not happen even under high loads/peak traffic times.
We have no recourse as a fan, i.e. if I’m unable to get a ticket that’s my “bad luck”!
This is unacceptable.
I suggest you review your relationship with computicket and find a ticketing partner that can provide a robust platform that does not fall over like their’s has today.
I VERY much doubt this is an isolated incident and I doubt they would give you full access to their logs to prove uptime, availability and performance at peak times. Find a partner that is open about their technology and capabilities.
I’ve just retuned after 6 years away from Cape Town and am very disappointed that I will not be at Newlands for the semi even after a more then reasonable attempt to procure tickets.
Shame on you.
