Weekend away

Had a great weekend break catching up with my friends Dru and Rob this weekend. Been ages since I’d spent a weekend with them and it was long overdue.

Went down on Friday evening and we had a quiet one that evening as Dru and Rob themselves having only having gotten home a little earlier from a week away up in the Natal Midlands. Sat Dru and I ran some errands in town then decided to try out a new deli Dru had heard about. Highly recommend if you in the Beacon Bay area.  We had a cracking breakfast there and the deli is great too. (The Market Store, Shop 13, Beacon Bay Crossing).

That afternoon we spent some time on the beach before having a lazy afternoon on the couch. That evening we had been invited to a 40th birthday bash and that was really a lovely evening with some really nice folks. Thanks Susan for the hospitality and happy 40th, had a cracking time 🙂

Sunday we had a “family” breakfast at the Gonubie hotel (Well, they Dru & Rob’s family but I can call them family too, I known them long enough!). It was a beautiful day and the view from the restaurant is amazing on days like that. They have  a regular breakfast special of R30… can you beat that? Good brekkie too. So a great start to the day 🙂 We hit the beach for a bit after and shortly after that it was time for me to start making my way home.

I popped in at Mums and we had a catchup and I got to visit with the dogs 🙂 I miss them! So great to see them.

There is no place like home though, and once I was home it only took me about 30 mins before I was on Kidds main beach for a walk. Nice way to end a really good weekend break  and great to catchup with friends. Bring on Monday.
