Updated Nov 2022: This has had to be put on hold. Not even getting to run one a week at the moment so… not much chance of this happening in 2022.
OK. It’s been a goal since the running bug bit years ago. Nasty injury and a couple niggles later… I got to start from 0. So here we go. 0 to 5km, then 5km in under 20 mins. This year, 2022.
My fastest 5k is 23:22. So it’s going to take some beating.
I’ll track my progress here starting with my first run, 3km on the 18th.
2022/01/18: 3km @ 8:25/km, 25:13
Managed my first 5km walk/run today so here we go….Working out my 5km training route, want it to be a tough one with big hill climbs.
2022/01/21: 3km @ 8:21/km, 25:08
2022/02/15: 5km @ 9:24/km, 47:04
2022/02/22: 5km @ 8:40/km, 43:37
Figured out a nice tough route. Sea level and straight up till 2.5km, then back down and home.
2022/03/07: 5km @ 8:30/km, 41:59
Strong run today, left quite a bit of time on the table which was nice. Was just aiming for 8:30 and did that comfortably. Super chuffed 🙂
